NZIA Regional Award 1997
NZIA National Award 1998
The 328m high Sky Tower is a distinctive marker and icon in the Auckland isthmus. The elegant shape was inspired by history of tall structures and spires, layered with a contemporary architectural language and technology.
There are seven public levels comprising observation areas, cafes, restaurants and adventure features. Innovative design techniques were used in fire and emergency procedures, building, maintenance and architectural detailing, and cladding design.
