Site Architect

Client representative and Interface role

The person may have tertiary education and training in architecture or engineering, or extensive experience in larger commercial projects and systems, either within a construction company; design consultancy; or project management.

The role on this Industrial and administrative development of approximately $40 million, will be to form a working ‘bridge’ between the Client Management, Design Consultants, and Commercial Contractor.

The new building will have significant machinery and infrastructural systems, and while this will be the responsibility of the Client Plant Engineers, this Client Representative will be providing building input into the relationship between the building and industrial processes.

Duties will include:

  • 30 hours per week minimum from 7 AM to 1 PM daily commencing each morning attending the Contractor’s Toolbox meeting which will include Health and Safety briefings.
  • The role will be as a contractor to Moller Architects for a 28-month period, tabled construction programme of 26 months plus a 2 month phases out period.
  • Liaising with the contractor Managing Director, Design Manager and Construction Manager.
  • Reviewing stated Methodology proposals from the contractor and conveying these to the Client management and Design Consultants as they are consistent with design documentation and intended machinery interface.
  • Reporting on the daily programme, achieved milestones, and monitoring the overall 26-month construction programme.
  • Assisting Design Consultants with review and inspections of offsite materials or components, together with monitoring long lead time items that are within the contractor or as advised by the Client, as key industrial components intended for the building.
  • Daily inspections of the various construction work fronts and liaising with Design Consultants or Client management as necessary.
  • Weekly review meeting with the Contractor to review the weekly work milestones and proposed forward work programme.
  • Monitoring regulatory requirements of Porirua City Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council in respect of noise, dust, effluent, and hours of construction.
  • Coordination of construction modifications as they are affected by the industrial installations, so that they can be incorporated int o the Revit documentation and as ‘As Built’s
